The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to get UFS 4.1 storage

Samsung’s next-generation flagship, the Galaxy S25 Ultra, is a few months away, but rumors about its specs have already surfaced online. Most recently, a whistleblower suggested that the premium S-series phone will feature UFS 4.1 storage. The new Galaxy S24 Ultra comes with UFS 4.0 flash memory. The Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC. It may get a 200-megapixel quad rear camera.

Tipster Sawyer Galox (@Sawyergalox) on X said the Galaxy S25 Ultra will have UFS 4.1 storage with a data transfer rate of 8GB per second. This could be a slight upgrade to the UFS 4.0 flash available on the Galaxy S24 Ultra, which offers a data transfer rate of 4GB per second.

It is unclear whether the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ will be equipped with the same UFS 4.1 drive, or whether the top model Galaxy 25 Ultra will be equipped with a new generation of flash memory. It is reported that the more advanced UFS 5.0 storage will appear by 2027.

This year, Samsung equipped all Galaxy S24 series smartphones with UFS 4.0 storage, except for the 128GB variants. The standard 128GB Galaxy S24 comes with UFS 3.1 storage. So we can expect the brand to follow this practice for the next Galaxy S lineup. The Galaxy S25 Ultra is already tipped to have 16GB of RAM and 512GB and 1TB of storage.

Speculations about the Galaxy S25 Ultra are already appearing online. It is said to be equipped with four primary cameras led by a 200-megapixel primary camera. The camera setup may also include a 50-megapixel sensor with 5x optical zoom, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 50-megapixel telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom. It is expected to be powered by the next generation Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra was launched in January at a starting price of Rs. 1,29,999 for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant.
